Open Days Open Days Autumn 2002
New location! New schedule!

We are pleased to invite you to our three open days that we organize in October on Friday 11th, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th, from 11 AM to 8 PM in our shop located in Chee de Waterloo, 417 in Ixelles (1050 Brussels).

Our shop will be exceptionally closed three days before the event.

Last Summer, we came back from Japan after having spent a few weeks in the Southern region, collecting a wide range of objects and some very nice pieces of furniture as well.
Here are some of the items that we will show during this preview sale:

 

Small items :
Various accessories for the tea and “way of tea” like: some chawan (bowl), some chago, chasen and chashaku, some mizusashi (to keep the water), some natsume (tea powder pot), some tetsubin (kettle), some chaire (tea leaves pot), some kashiki (dish for cakes), etc..
Some kane (singing bowl), a few kouro (incense burner), some suzu (small bell), a nice tsurigane (temple bell), some mokugyo (wooden gong), two kamidana (Shinto family altar) and many statuettes (Hotei, Daruma, Jyurojin, etc.).
A suzuri (ink stone), a few inkan (stamp), a suiteki (water dropper), a nice hikka (brush holder), many kakejiku (hanging scroll) .

Some soroban (abacus) - A shamisen and a taiko (drum) - A furin (summer bell) - Some manekineko (welcome cat) - Some netsuke (button) - Some omen (mask) - A yoroiningyo (small armor) - Two yoroibitsu (armor box) - A sensu (fan) - Many mushaningyo (samurai doll) and other dolls - Some obi (kimono sash), a few haori and two kinuta (mallet for beating clothes) - Some tekagami and wakagami (mirror), also some kanzashi (hair pin).

Some tabakobon (ashtray-set), tabakoire (pipe holder) and kiseru (pipe) - A jizaikagi (trammel), some accessories for hibachi brazier table and a teaburi (hand warmer) - Some multipurpose baskets among which a biku (to catch eels) - Some hanakago (for the ikebana), hanaire (bronze vase), some dai (display stand).
Some takazen (small dinner table), many obon (tray), a ohira (big lacquered bowl), some owan (lacquered bowl), some sakazuki (sake cup), some hyotan (sake gourd), a gomairi (sesame seed roaster) and some kashigata (rice cake mold) - Some accessories as well as various ornaments and a lot of contemporary traditional Japanese style crockery for tea, sake, food, etc..

Multipurpose cases and boxes among which a funa-ginko (sea safe box), a kesho-bako (make up box), some kakesuzuri-bako (portable writing box safe), some suzuri-bako (ink stone box), some hari-bako (sewing box), some kohikidashi (small drawers' chest), some kyodai (dressing table with mirror) - Some lacquered jubako (lunch box) and kusuri-bako (medicine box).

 

Tansu:
Several mizuya-dansu (kitchen cabinet) and monoire-dansu (storing chest) of various sizes - A lot of isho-dansu (kimono and personal garments chest) - Some cha-dansu (tea chest) - Some choba-dansu (merchant chest) of various sizes - Many ko-dansu (small multipurpose furniture) - Some low tables and low desks - Etc..

Our selection criteria: all the pieces that we bring back must be genuine, have had less than 15% of restoration and have been made before mid twentieth century.
