Letter of invitation
for the open days
in September 1998
On the occasion of the arrival of our containers, we are pleased to invite you to our three open days which we organize in September on Friday 18th from 12 pm to 9 pm and on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th from 10 am to 7 pm. They will take place in our warehouse in Rue de Chambery, 45 in Brussels. The shop will stay opened as usual.
During our five weeks spent in Japan and in Korea last summer, we have brought back some very nice pieces. Here are some of the items we have found :
Japanese container :
A kaidan-dansu (staircase chest) in zelkova wood. A monoire-dansu (Japanese cupboard mainly used for putting futons) as well as several mizuya-dansu (Japanese kitchen cabinet) of various sizes. Some isho-dansu (Japanese chests of drawers to put clothes and kimonos). A few nice choba-dansu (merchant chests). Several ko-dansu (small pieces of furniture for various purposes). Some cha-dana (tea chests). A whole series of old Japanese doors. Hibachi (brazier table). A few low tables and low desks. Some iko (kimono racks). A few splendid chests. Several statues and bronze. Lacquered bowls. Some obi (kimono sashes). Some multi-purpose boxes and chests. A jubako (Set of fitted boxes). Some vases for ikebana. Some tabakoire (pipe and tobacco pouches), pipes and accessories. Some baskets and gong. A few mirrors and mirror-stand. Some haori (man's jacket). Some abacus. Various accessories for hibachi (brazier). Some bronze usubata. And other items on various purposes.Korean container:
A few beautiful yichung-jang et yichung-nong (Korean chest on chest for putting ladie's clothes). Several chests of various sizes and purposes which can be opened either in the front or on the top. Some cha-dana (for tea and accessories). Some morijang(low chests). Several euguri-jang (Korean wardrobes) which can be used to hide a television, for example. Some stony items and various objects.
As antique items are becoming rare in Korea, we thus have completed our container with a few contemporary craft items of which some reproductions of a Japanese staircase, a few reproductions of chests for keeping medicinal herbs and several small pieces of furniture.Hoping to see you again, we remain yours sincerely.
