Letter of invitation
for the open days
in March 1999
We are pleased to invite you to our three open days which we organize in March, on Friday 26th, from 12 pm to 9 pm, Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th from 10 am to 7 pm in our warehouse located in Rue de Chambéry, 45 in Etterbeek - Brussels (see map on the back).
Our shop will exceptionally be closed for these three days.Last January, we came back from Japan after having spent five weeks collecting a wide range of objects and some magnificient pieces of furniture as well. Here are some of the items we found :
Furniture :
A kaidan-dansu (Japanese staircase chest), several monoire-dansu (Japanese cupboard used among other things to put futons away) as well as some mizuya-dansu (Japanese kitchen cabinet) of various sizes. A large number of isho-dansu (Japanese chest of drawers used to put clothes and kimonos away), two funa-ginko (sea chest), a few splendid choba-dansu (merchant chest), several ko-dansu
(small multi-purpose furniture), some cha-dana (tea chest), some old Japanese doors, a few hibachi (brazier table), about ten low tables and low desks, some iko (kimono rack), a few splendid chests, etc..Items :
A shishigashira (dog-lion mask used during the summer festival), multi-purpose cases and boxes : hari-bako (used for sewing), kyodai (dressing), zeni-bako (money-box), etc. Various vases and accessories for ikébana of which some usubata (bronze), some ranma (ornement which is placed on top of sliding doors), some Japanese mirrors, a few old tools, some shades, some kimono, haori and other traditional Japanese clothes, a few kakejiku (calligraphy and Japanese drawings on scroll), some abacus, a variety of dolls and statuettes, some candle-holders, a few tray-tables, some lacquered bowls, some obi (kimono sash), some furin (summer bell), some multi-purpose baskets, some accessories as well as various ornement, and little contemporary traditional Japanese style crockery such as some tea bowls, some chawan (tea ceremoy bowl), some plates, some tokkuri (sake jug), some trays, etc..
