Letter of invitation
for the open days
in March 1998

We are pleased to invite you to our three open days that we organize in March on Friday 20th from 12 pm to 9 pm and on Saturday 21th and Sunday 22th from 10 am to 7 pm. They will take place in our warehouse in :
Rue de Chambery, 45 in Brussels.

As our diary 98 is rather heavy (buying in Asia, our open days, interior decoration and above all the installation of our new shop), we decided not to attend the usual antique fairs this year. Which we regret, for since ten years, many of you came to see us on these occasions. We apologize to them and hope to have the pleasure to meet them again on our open days or in our new shop.

We stayed for seven weeks in Japan last winter and we found quite a lot of very nice pieces :

Furniture:

Monoire-dansu (Japanese cupboard mainly used for putting futons). Several mizuya-dansu (Japanese kitchen cabinets) of various sizes. A few isho-dansu (Japanese chests of drawers to put clothes and kimonos). Three isu (chairs). A funa-ginko (sea chest). Some nice choba-dansu (merchant chests). Several ko-dansu (small pieces of furniture of various purposes). Some cha-dana (tea chests). Kazari-dana (shelves), doors, hibachi (brazier table). About 10 low tables and low desks. Some iko (kimono racks). A few splendid chests and boxes from various sizes, etc..

Other items :

Some kushi and kanzashi (comb and hairpin). Two stone lantern (toro). Various dolls and statues, Small altars. Many different dolls, masks, lacquered bowls, obi (kimono sash). Caskets, a few maneki-neko (lucky charm cat), some vases for ikebana, small boxes, furin (summer bell). Jubako (set of lacquered boxes fitting in one another). Some tabakoire (pipe and tobacco pouches). Inro (medicine box). Some abacus, sewing box, button (netsuke). Scale and weights. A set of majong. One pistol. Kimono and haori (jacket). And other items on various purposes.

Hoping to see you again, we remain yours sincerely.
