Letter of invitation
for the open days
in March 1997
We are pleased to invite you to our three open days which we organize in March, Friday 14th, from 2 pm to 9 pm, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th from 10 am to 7 pm in our warehouse in Etterbeek (Brussels) Rue de Chambery, 45.
Our shop will be therefore closed for these three days.We came back from Japan at the end of January after having spent six weeks collecting various nice pieces and some rare items. Here are some of the things we found:
Furniture:
A kaidan-dansu (Japanese staircase chest), four monoire-dansu (Japanese cupboard for putting among other things, futons), several mizuya-dansu (Japanese kitchen cabinet), a lot of isho-dansu (Japanese chest of drawers to put clothes and kimonos away), a funa-ginko (sea chest), a kusuri-dansu (chest where are kept medicinal herbs), some beautiful choba-dansu (merchant chest), several ko-dansu (small furniture for different purposes), some cha-dana (tea chest), doors, hibachi (brazier table).A lot of low tables and several low desks, a few splendid chests, etc..
Items:
A yoroi (Samurai's armor). A hanya mask from the noh theatre, three tsuba (sword's gard), some kushi and kanzashi (comb and hairpin), a yumi (bow).Several temple items, among those a beautiful toro (stone lantern), many religious statues, some small altars, a superb pair of ranma (ornament) and a pair of shokudai (candlestick).
Various dolls and statues, some masks, lacquered bowls, some obi (kimono sash), caskets, a few maneki-neko (lucky charm cat), some vases for ikebana, small boxes, two furin (summer bell), a waterwheel, three stone lanterns, some iko (kimono rack), and various small accessories, etc..
